Santa Clara, CA, March 30, 2021 —– Hitachi America, Ltd. (“Hitachi America”) today announced the appointment of Hicham Abdessamad as Chairman and President & CEO of Hitachi America, the regional corporate headquarters of Hitachi Group in North America. Currently Chairman of the Board at Hitachi America, Abdessamad will continue in this capacity after his appointment as President & CEO on May 1, 2021. In addition to taking on this new role, Abdessamad will continue to serve as Chief Executive of Global Social Innovation Business, Hitachi, Ltd.

Mr. Koji Takaichi, current President & CEO of Hitachi America will assume the role of Deputy Chief Environmental Officer and Deputy General Manager of Environment Business Growth Strategy Division, Hitachi, Ltd. in order to accelerate Hitachi’s environmental business expansion.
